I bought this Buckle at a auction and I was told this is an early SS Buckle.
Size is 4 cm by 4 cm.
Any Ideas what unit this buckle used?

I can't see how this buckle would fit to a standard issue belt. Normally a hooked cross would be rotated.
If this is a Nazi buckle it would be civilian. This could also be a Hindu buckle.
Here's a picture of an early SS buckle (early SA type).
That's my 2 bits worth!
Any other takers out there?

I found my german belt buckle book from lothar bichlmaier and hartung.
The buckle on page 51, who looks close to mine was used by the Jungsturm ( youngstorm) Adolf Hitler.
The Closing is different and the size. In the book it says 52 by 42 mm. Mine is 40 by 40 mm.
The other one is from Stosstrupp Adolf Hitler. This one is even bigger 63 by 47 mm.
